Unreal Tournament next, a tech demonstration

Who here fondly remembers the rocket opera and mayhem of UT? UT(99) is one of my favorite competitive multiplayer games of all time. So I have no choice but to be excited for another offering. The series has branched out in many different directions, but I still prefer the classic modes. I am itching for a re-invigoration of the arena shooter. Here is a video I found exciting, if just in the art direction and fine detail offered.

Even as a "working concept" that is quite impressive.

I do hope we don't lose the outlandish and amazing maps of the Arena Shooter golden age. It seems we've not seen the FPS multiplayer genre allow for modern iterations of Facing Worlds or Longest Yard or Morpheus once the fixation with contemporary warfare took over.

I do miss those heady days, just for the sheer fun with friends and bots. I don't want this Unreal Tournament to be grounded. I want mutators galore and the ability to play a map in low orbit again.

One of the only times I've felt F2P is the right way to go with a franchise.
