King of Dragon Pass on your iDevice, Red. That'll see you through.

Well, Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak is out. And it's magnificent.

I gave it a going-over at Wargamer, but in short, it's just nice to have that particular brand of RTS back. Not to mention, the writing and production is stellar. Highly recommended.

There can be only one belle at the ball right now, and that one is Darkest Dungeon - apologies to Homeworld, who I am sure is magnificent. I've been waiting for DD to come out of early access for literally years. The time is right. Get thee to Borovia.

2D XCOM plus 4E style tactical RPG + Lovecraftian eldridch horrors. Permadeath. Insanity. Whorehouses. Black Metal artwork every which-a-way.

Red, you should bunker yourself down with crusaders and highwaymen and bounty hunters and just wait out the next 30 hours quaking in terror.

The Blow-brand navel-gazing might be a little too much for me.

I know nothing about The Witness.

Braid pissed me off, never got very far in it.

I don't know. The flat-shaded polygons and first person puzzle emphasis look nice. I probably got stuff to play I'll enjoy more though.

Heh, so...I decided to throw caution to the wind, as well as 4000-odd yen, after a quick lunchtime chat with Bowley on The Witness. And here I am, playing some puzzles. It's nice. Will it teach me about myself? Will it speak to us about the evolution of meta-linguistics and the language of being?! Will I henceforth only drink soy milk?!

These questions, and more, shall be answered in Jon Blow's The Witness.

My iPhone 4 has been retired after 3 years. iPhone 6 has come in, and it's got me curious about what is out there. I occasionally attached to some interesting games like superbrothers, but have largely kept out of the loop. Bought xcom on the 6, because it's not just a great game, but a great port of a great game. I do wonder though, what are some recommendations for utilizing this devices gaming potential?

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes whenever I'm killing time in the office, XCOM 2 whenever I do have long hours to kill and Gabriel Knight: Sins of the fathers before bed time.
